When in September I went to Beijing, the tour of the “Great wall” was one of the most anticipated, because to see one of the seven “wonders of the world” should try every person.
You go on this excursion for quite a long time, about an hour since the wall itself is located outside the city, and Chinese beliefs from the town there is only one road for exit from the North side because on perimetre the city is surrounded by mountains and the Chinese believed that from the North to the city attack is unlikely. The idea of a unified architectural plan, which built all the Gothic churches, raised for the first time, it seems, by Victor Hugo in “Notre Dame de Paris”, right, not demanded from its author’s great analytical depth. This idea lies on the surface, obvious to anyone who visited a number of iconic buildings of Gothic architecture. Nevertheless, the impression on “all ye who enter here incoming” all of them are different, and some do not produce any. All of the people, the skeletons of which are also virtually indistinguishable from each other.
On what basis is the Prague St. Vitus Cathedral is considered one of the greatest Gothic churches in the world? For its size it will not, perhaps, in the list of the first fifty of them. Its interior decoration and especially the stained glass Windows really make a strong impression, but also their unique, after all, difficult to call. In particular, the stained glass chapel of Saint-Chapelle in Paris, at least, not worse. Then what? This question must, apparently, to meet the professionals – architects or art historians, the majority of the “uninitiated” so, the only conclusion ultra-high concentration in this structure, the basic concept of Gothic architecture: “awesome greatness”. If you’ve never heard of the word “Dolmen”, then probably you have question: “what is it?”
Dolmens – this is the First wonder of the world – one of the most mysterious types of archaeological monuments. A miracle that is found in many countries of the world. Dolmens have tremendous power, of which there is no explanation.
Dolmens – “stone boxes” – refers to megalithic structures. Megaliths (from Greek Megas – large and lithos – stone), these ancient structures from multi-ton, often carefully crafted stone blocks are well known in the world.
Megalithic monuments of Europe appear at the end of the VI Millennium BC (about 7.5 thousand years ago). Just before they started building in France. Here in the Western Caucasus the first dolmens were erected in the late fourth Millennium BC In numbers, it is about 3400 BC (plus or minus 50-70 years). This date was obtained as the result of the radiocarbon analysis. Continue reading
