Cologne Cathedral (Cologne Cathedral)
This Cathedral is not only one of the most famous Catholic shrines in Germany and the landmark of the city for many centuries. Since 1880, when finished to build the spires, until 1884, the Church was the tallest building in the world. Although she lost the title of tallest building to the Washington monument, however, is still the tallest Church built in the Gothic style.
I started to build a Shrine on the site of a former Roman temple in the 13th century and completed after 600 years. The Cathedral was built in honor of the virgin Mary and the Apostle Peter.
